Here in Paso Robles, we’re very proud of our wine! The grape growers, wine makers, wine pourers, and wine drinkers all deserve a little praise and celebration. Well, ZinFest is one of the times when we get to show off our great Zinfandels, one of the major grapes grown around here. With over 50 wineries, several local restaurants, ports paired with chocolate, and a cigar tent, this was one big celebration, all under one roof at the Fair Grounds. The wineries all come together to make a blend in honor of the Festival with 33 different Zinfandels in it. We got to taste some newly released Zins as well as some older library Zins. It’s a great opportunity to see the different wine maker’s styles side by side. And that leads me into the one problem…side by side…the wineries were crammed together pretty tightly, from the side as well as from the back. Narrow aisles made it difficult to get around, especially as more and more people arrived, but we managed! So if you like Zinfandel even just a little bit, you have to come to this event.
