We were lucky enough to secure a private tasting at RN Estate! http://www.rnestate.com/. This is a little ways out there…a beautiful drive up North River Road and out a long dirt road…and every second was worth the wait! For starters, what a beautiful estate! Four acres of vines are planted on the slopes of the 40 acre property and Roger’s home sits atop a hill with gorgeous views of the entire area. Roger is the owner and winemaker and he does about a thousand cases of handcrafted, delicious, Red Rhone and Bordeaux style wines a year. Some Pinot Noirs, a Mourvedre and several blends using varietals like Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Zinfandel make up the tasting list. From the second that we took our first sniff, to tasting the last drop, this was one of those great, unique, and eye opening wine experiences! The wines are delicate but complex, silky and aromatic with perfect flavor and finish. You get to really taste what a grape can become in the glass…his hands-on meticulous winemaking style shows up in each glass. It’s just like what Roger says…”Like words in poetry”.

Hi, wow another nice winery, we will have to check this out whenever we come up to Paso. Hey, I have a great idea, on your next wine tasting can you video it inside the tasting room while you are tasting? That would be fun to watch. You guys are the greatest and I look forward to all your adventures. When do you take the time to do all this with have a full time job, do you go after work?
Monica Prunk says
Awesome guys! Now this is what it should be all about! Do you have to make a reservation, or call ahead so they know your coming?? I will visit their web site as soon as I’m finished here. I also like the suggestion from Beverly about doing the video from inside the tasting room, if the owners will permit it! Cheerz!

Hey there, we’ll work on filming a blog or two from inside a tasting room and see what you think! As for RN Estate, yes, you have to call ahead and set up your tasting. Sometimes you can find him pouring at events around town, too!
And Beverly, we usually go tasting on the weekends and some events during the week. It’s fun for us, so it doesn’t feel like work!

Does he still have his big dog Diego?
Hoot 'n Annie says
Dog??? You mean horse? Yes, Diego welcomed us in…hehehe.
