You might know just how much we love our downtown. We call it “ours” because we spend a lot of time (and sometimes money) hanging out downtown. Usually, it’s enjoying food, wine, friends, and we never tire of the view. There’s always something going on, and we don’t like to miss out! Well, Orchid Hill is strategically placed right in the middle of all this. They’re right in the proverbial middle of downtown, staring out at the park, and in the midst of all the activity.
We wandered into their beautiful tasting room on “Black Friday”, sort of forgetting about all the hype and excitement of getting up super early in the incredibly cold morning to stand in line and pay money for stuff. Well, that or we didn’t much pay attention to all that and just did what we do best – went for a bit of wine and some people-watching!
Orchid Hill is a pretty classy joint! They’ve got some great wines; a few stood out to us, probably the Viognier, the Anomaly blend, and the Reserve Syrah were our favorites. The cool thing is that they have a lot of wines to try so there’s bound to be something that strikes your fancy. On the interesting front, they had a Muscat Canelli…a little sweet for our liking, but good if you’re into that kind of white wine thing.
Stop in next time you’re around…try a little sip…peruse the art…tell ’em Hoot ‘n Annie sent you! Cheers!

Way to go Annie, that’s what I like to do, people watching while sipping a nice glass of wine.

Thanks, Bev! Now, we just have to figure out how to install an invisible force field around us when we’re out in public so that people can’t see or hear us! Wouldn’t that be cool?
