If you like wine, and you like off-the-beaten-path places to try wine…then you’ll love Zin Alley! They’re all about the small production place and the theory is to let the vines do the work. They use head-trained vines that are dry farmed…so the wine you’re tasting is showing off the terrior!
They produce no more than 500 cases a year, and specialize in Zinfandel (get it? The name!!!). They also do some interesting blends and dessert wines. Don’t miss the Nerelli Generation 4 which is a blend of Syrah and Zinfandel made to honor owner Frank Nerelli’s 4 generations of family winemaking. The estate that he and his wife, Connie own used to be part of the historic Pesenti vineyard until they purchased the land from Frank’s Uncle (Victor Pesenti).
You’ll see the uniqueness and history of this place when you drive up the hill off the 46 West. Walk in, do your tasting at the rustic bar in the barrel room while chatting with Frank, and learn all kinds of cool tidbits while he pours you his handcrafted wines. This is definitely one of those places where you want to stop and enjoy some time, pour a glass and enjoy the epitome of beautiful Paso Robles wine country!
