Cinnabar Wine’s Tasting Room is a pretty cool little spot on the main drag in downtown Saratoga, CA., well…it’s actually a pretty good sized tasting room for being right downtown. We tasted through a few wines including a great 2007 Marsanne (Paso Robles fruit), a 2007 Chardonnay (great nose, nice minerality), a 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon (full, good fruit, quite nice) and a 2008 Mercury Rising (Bordeaux blend- very good, but young).
They have two labels, Tapestry and Medallion, which, combined make about 15,000 cases. Tapestry is the distributed wine label, while the Medallion label is for the tasting room and wine club.
It really was a great time, check out the video and you’ll see what the “scene” is like on the street. They also had a great patio to sip wine on when the weather is warm enough. Cheers folks, and let us know if you’ve ever had their wines or been there!!
Seriously, tell us, we want to hear about your wine travels too!!

I’m so glad you got to visit them, we were going to visit this winery when I was up to see my Aunt and Uncle a few months ago but we never got the time. If I go up there this year we will stop in since we fly into San Jose and my Uncle lives in Los Altos Hills. What a nice road trip, hope you find some more wineries, or visit Peggy Flemmings winery in Los Gatos.

We didn’t know that Peggy has a winery in Los Gatos! That’s on the list for the next trip! How lucky to have an Uncle in such a cool area…tons of great stuff around Los Altos. Cheers!

Our kids live in the San Jose area and take us wine tasting in the Los Gatos and Saratoga area. Peggy’s winery (Fleming Jenkins Vineyards) has a cute little tasting room in downtown – full of memorabilia. Black Ridge Winery is another nice find in the hills above Los Gatos. Some how we’ve missed Cinnabar. Will catch it next time!

Hi Les and Jean, lucky you to get to explore that area! Great wines and restaurants and all that! We’ll definitely look for Peggy’s place, as well as Black Ridge next time we’re in the area. Let us know what you think of Cinnabar, they’ve got some sort of Friday night wine party that they do, could be fun! Cheers!!
