You’ve most likely seen previous posts we’ve done on Rotta Winery, if not, you really should check out their story on the website. This is truly a place where history and wine collide!!
It’s a beautiful spot where you can sit out on their awesome patio and stare out at the vineyards and get lost in the landscape. This is a must do on our list this Spring/ Summer. The wines really speak for themselves with an extensive, reasonably priced list and some really unique and interesting wines.
We have developed a great relationship with the people at Rotta Winery and are very appreciative of their support. If you make it to Paso Robles, this really is a must stop!! Check ‘em out and tell ‘em Hoot n Annie sent ya!
Been traveling a lot and just got a chance to read several of your blogs. Good one on Rotta. One of Pasos great wine/vineyard families. I’m really glad the family brought it back. !st time I tried Rotta wines was in 1972 as a student at Davis. Dr. Olmo and I were down here doing soil analysis of the area for soil science, but really for the vit. dept. Bought a bottle of zin from momma Rotta and took it to dinner at the PRI. Lets just say it was rustic. Wines are so much better now, but consider the source of the grapes. One of Pasos great vineyards. Good job.
Glad you’re back, Gary…Paso just isn’t the same without you around! Awesome story about your experience with Rotta, it’s hard to grasp how much the wine biz has grown around here. We love Rotta, great selection of wines to taste, reasonable prices, awesome people! And thanks for the feedback, we really appreciate it!
Great piece! I secretly hope jugs would make a comeback but in a more fashionable sense 🙂 We need some rock ‘n’ roll in wine bottling these days.

Why is there drip line under those dry farmed zin vines in the picture??? Perhaps to provide water to the gophers???
