EOS has moved. Firestone has moved. Everybody is moving. Wait…things are changing, but remember that the one constant in life is change, right? The fact that things change and move in the wine industry is a reflection of the fact that things in life change and move! Sooo…the winery on 46 East that we knew as EOS has been acquired by the Firestone family of wines (Foley Family Wines).
You can find the EOS wines at the location in Paso Robles formerly known as Firestone, at the corner of 46 East and Airport road…and you can find the Firestone wines at their mother ship location down in the Santa Ynez area (Santa Barbara County) where they do all the wine production.
Got all that straight? Good, now back to EOS. The facility is cool, beautiful, and centrally located in the Paso Robles wine region. EOS makes some really nice wines, and they’re affordable! The price points are reasonable, and you’ve got a couple of choices when it comes to the tasting menu. We were offered either a Zinfandel line up, or their standard line up of whites and reds. We went with the latter (a little burned out on Zins from the recent Zin Fest all up in here).
We got some Sauvignon Blanc, some Chardonnay, some Bordeaux blends, and some Petite Sirah, to name a few; a pretty nice spread. The tasting room is super cool…huge, with lots of stuff to browse around and mull over. Grab a picnic and come hang out. Watch the cars go by on the 46, watch the kids slide down the tubes at the water park, or watch the peeps meander around the RV park, all while munching on your picnic, sipping on some wine and playing horseshoes at their pit!

You got it, Bev! Do you guys have a motor home? That would make for some pretty convenient tasting!
We use to have a motor home, but we sold it a long time ago. We could always rent one if we decide to go up that way. I prefer taking Amtrak-where you can relax and enjoy the view, renting a car, and staying at a B&B.
The train is definitely the way to go…especially if they’re serving wine in your car!
