We had the opportunity to be part of the most Rhoning-est media tasting at Hospice du Rhone…well, because they consider us media (imagine that)!! The nice thing about it is that we get to go in to a private room with a handful of other media folks and pour ourselves wine and take notes.
It really is a great experience because you’re not fighting crowds and you get some definite “quiet time” with the wines!! I took a photo of each label we tasted and Annie took some notes. Check out our Flickr Page to see the pictures. We only tasted 15 or so of the 100-ish wines in the room, but they were ones we specifically wanted to taste.
A huge, big, ginormous, Rhone-tastic shout-out to the folks at Hospice du Rhone for letting us be a part of this truly unique event.
Side note: as many of you read earlier this week, Annie lost her grandfather and wrote a nice little piece about him. Hoot wanted to add his two cents. I only knew her grandfather for about five years, but I include him in my top five of best people. He had a way about him that is not describable…it was more of a presence, a lot like my grandfather had prior to his passing in 1996. These were/ are truly great men that worked their asses off and I wanted to give my own “thank you” to Annie’s grandpa…it was a pleasure to know you and you have certainly been a huge motivation for me!!
Cheers folks, have a fantastic Friday…live in the moment, work hard, be nice, and enjoy the ones you love!!

We always have fun, Bev…could be that we’re always drinking wine, but hey, does that really matter? 😉 Loved the Roses and Whites. The sparkling Shiraz was good, but a little strange. Might have been the color and bubbles together…just have to get used to it!
