At Crush and Roll West 2011, we had the opportunity to sit down with Andy Scharfman, otherwise known as “The Cigar Man Andy”. We first met him a while back at a cigar event and what we noticed about him and appreciated was his passion and knowledge of cigars.
The Crush and Roll West event is a cigar and wine event hosted in Paso Robles. It’s designed to cater to those that appreciate the cigar lifestyle, or just want to learn more about the joy of partaking in yet another vice; because that’s really what it’s all about! The ability to sit back, relax, and enjoy a nice cigar with a glass of port, or a good cup of coffee is a way of life. Life should be taken a little less seriously and those moments of enjoyment should be taken a little bit more seriously!
As you’ll see in the interview, Andy is just a cool guy who absolutely loves what he does in the cigar world. And, if you’re at all into cigars, or have ever thought about getting into them…follow him and get in touch; he’s the MAN (The Cigar Man) to know.

My personal favorites, Romeo & Juliet #2 and Monticristo #2. I think cigars are like wine…..there are Pinot cigars….and Nebbiolo cigars and all in between. Couldn’t agree more with him, smoke what you like. Cool post!

Hey Shawn! We’re still learning, but Hoot likes the CAOs, Perdomos, and Macanudos, among other things. I like the flavored girlie stuff!
Dahlynn says
Yuck! Cigars are stinky! And my guy is very allergic to smoke. But the interview was fun and interesting…guess I should smoke cigars to un-stress myself, huh? Look at George Burns who lived to 100! Fun interview.
Hoot 'n Annie says
You are very right, Dahlynn! Cigars are quite stinky…but it’s all about learning to love that funky stench! 😉

What did Bill Clinton smoke?
Hoot 'n Annie says
Good question, Gary…even better question: did he inhale?
Gary says
I’m with the cigars are stinky crowd. I just can’t believe cigars and wine mix well.r
Hoot 'n Annie says
Funny thing is, Gary…seems that the cigar/wine thing works if the wine is rich enough to stand up to the cigar, or that the cigar is light enough not to overpower the wine!
Yes, they are stinky, but sometimes stinky things are good! 😉
Gary says
I like stinky cheese.
Hoot 'n Annie says
But does stinky cheese like YOU? Hehehe…I say the stinkier the better when it comes to cheese!

Nice job on your interview with Andy. He knows his cigars and I agree that Cigar Rights of America (CRA) is a great organization that is fighting for our right to smoke. It goes without saying that cigar smokers are concerned with how their smoke affects non-smokers, but that said, many of us enjoy cigars only outside where we can enjoy the beauty of our surroundings while enjoying a relaxing smoke.
Hoot (or Matt) says
Thanks Doc…it was awesome seeing you!! And I couldn’t agree more. I only smoke outside and typically even try to be cautious of where I am when I do that so I don’t offend anyone! Cheers to ya buddy, and hope to see you again soon!! Have a great weekend!
