As you can see, things are a little bit different here at Hoot n Annie. We decided a while back that it was time for a change, aesthetically speaking, so we found a new site theme and had someone help us put it all together. Our goal was to come up with something that was a little different than your standard blog site as well as finding a theme set up that would give us some cool options…and this one does that.
Annie and I would love for you to take a look around and let us know what you think. If you have any questions or feedback, please don’t hesitate to let us know…we want your thoughts if you’re willing to give them. We’re going to be adding things to the different tabs at the top and fine tuning things as we go from this point forward so grab a glass of your favorite adult beverage and come along for the ride. At the end of the day, we just like change…in some ways we felt like we got into a rut with the other site and we’ve been ready for this change for some time but lack of time and you know, having a baby, really put all that on pause.
It’s been an interesting couple of months, Sammy is 2 months old today (Friday the 7th). I don’t feel I ever really had to work on balance…not that I had achieved balance prior to Sammy, but it didn’t really matter. The addition of a baby really pushes you to find some kind of balance because you still have to accomplish all the same tasks as before but now you have a human munchkin that needs full time attention. Annie is on maternity leave but working a few hours a day and I’m still handling my painting company as well as the online wine marketing that I do…oh ya, than there our marriage, the house, the yard, grocery shopping, Holidays, friends, family, bills to pay, showers to take, laundry to do, and all the other chores that go along with being a “normal human”.
The journey has definitely been interesting. It’s been great to be able to share it with all of you and the support has been way above and beyond anything we imagined…so we thank you for that. Wine (and other adult beverages) is still a large part of our lifestyle. It’s hard to live in Paso Robles and not be consumed by wine…or be consuming wine. Our local Paso Robles wine industry has been awesome with us too…they were before Sammy but now when we take him to a tasting room everybody just gushes over him. That’s another one of those things I love about this area…those relationships we’ve created, the friends that have become family, have been very important to us.
So thanks again everyone. We look forward to wrapping up this year with you and starting anew on January 1, 2013. We appreciate all the support and hope to bring some new and interesting things to this blog in the coming year. As I said above, we’d love your feedback on anything you see or would like to see.
Cheers!

Love it! Everything you guys do is great. It’s even fun to look back and read what happened a couple years ago, you’ve come along way. As always I enjoy following you from the beginning and now with Little Sammy it will be a joy to watch him grow. Looking forward to some new and interesting things to this blog in the New Year! Cheers!

Way to go – add to your family and renovate your blog, all at the same time. If I saw you in a tasting room, I would gush over Sammy too! Your opening statement is the best “job” in the world – “Drinking wine for the people.” It makes me smile whenever I see it. Enjoy your first Christmas with Sammy.
