I saw this article this morning titled “Central Coast Wine Business is Strong and Growing” and it made me smile…I’m glad business is strong. Although, depending on who you speak with, that opinion may differ.
It was also a reminder that WiVi (Wine & Viticulture) Central Coast is coming up (March 19-20) at the Paso Robles Event Center, a new symposium and tradeshow that you really should check out if you’re at all into the wine thing…which I’m assuming you are if you’re reading our blog. Here’s a link to the WiVi website with more info.
It looks like there will be several cool sessions over the two day symposium as well, you can check those at this link.
Annie and I plan on at least going to the tradeshow so we hope to see you there. We will attempt a session or two but all depends on our little Sammy dude.
In other news, Annie and I have been brainstorming a lot lately about this blog and what we want to do with it going forward. We live in Paso Robles and get caught up into our lives and put the content we feel is important on here but we’d love any feedback from you on what you would like to see more of or less of. Especially for those of you that do not live here, is there anything you’d like to know more about that we could help with? Our goal remains the same, we want to promote and highlight all the awesomeness that Paso Robles has to offer (and the rest of SLO County), so give us some ideas if you feel we’re lacking in some areas.
One thing we want to start doing is have guest writers on here that can cover different aspects of our area like farming, viticulture, winemaking, food, restaurants, the growing beer scene, and more. The goal of guest writers is to bring other points of view and opinions to the table and open the door to more conversation as well things new subjects that we may not be knowledgeable to cover. Again, let us know what you think of that and if you’re someone that would like to guest write on here let us know…we’re open to any thoughts/ ideas on that but obviously we would have final say on what actually gets published.
Thanks again everyone…for all the support. We’ve now been doing this blog for a little over 3 years and this is our 622nd post. It’s been a lot of work, believe it or not, but we still love doing it. Cheers folks and enjoy your Friday and your weekend!!

Hey there Matt & Annie,
Kudos to you both for your hard work and for staying committed to this blog, what an accomplishment. My favorite posts were the ones where you showed video’s of the wineries you visited in the area. I remember one video you did of a guy pruning the vines that was very interesting. I’d like to see more of that and you might also try doing some videos of you and Annie actually tasting different wines, at the various wineries you visit, and giving us your thoughts and comments about each one while you’re tasting them.
I appreciate and admire you both for what you’ve done and hope you continue to follow your passions.

Wow Duncan…not only do I appreciate the comment, but I appreciate your thoughts and feedback. When you’re in the trenches doing this kind of thing you can lose sight of certain things so it’s great to hear other people’s thoughts. I agree completely with the videos…Annie and I have that at the top of our list to start doing more of. My hope with having some guest bloggers on here is to have them use video, written word, and photos to tell their story. I’m glad those previous videos stood out to you…I made some notes based on your comment, thank you again my friend!! Have a great weekend!

Paso Robles is our absolute favorite area of CA Wine Country. And your blog is the ONLY one I read or respond to any day of the year. I love that you focus on my favorite area of CA. You and Annie bring a perspective that we as “outsiders” cannot hope to know. I love your bringing specific wines and wineries to our attention. That makes my “wheels” turn in planning our next trip to the area. I loved the nes idea of “wines of the month” from both of you. While we are new members of Pear Valley, we have not tried the Pear Valley wine you referenced. But we will now! Keep up the good work! Give little Sammy a hug from us in Texas.

April…your comment made my day…seriously!! And yes, you have to try that Inspiration blend from pear Valley…it’s excellent! If you think of anything you’d like to know or see let me know…otherwise we will keep plugging along! Thanks for the Sammy love too…we are so lucky, he’s an awesome little guy. Cheers!!
