Asuncion Ridge Tasting Room is located in downtown Paso Robles at 725 12th Street across from the park. We’ve been in there numerous times and have a friend that works there, Teresa. The first thing I will say is that you won’t meet anyone kinder and easier to chat with than Teresa. We’ve known her for some time and always enjoy spending time with her.
The tasting room is fantastic for several reasons but the two best reasons are that it’s a large tasting room so it’s hard to feel claustrophobic in there and the other reason is that it’s directly across from the park. One of my favorite things about Paso, as I have mentioned on here before, is that I love our downtown square. The more time I get downtown, the better!
They have a great wine list but on this occasion we did not taste through everything. We had Sammy with us and herding him around from destroying a tasting room is mission number one. Just for your information, they do serve by the glass as well as flights; just check the tasting menu for current flights available. Here is the complete list and then I will mention what we tasted.

Next to each wine I mentioned whether I tasted it or not. I’ve been a fan of their wines for a while now. I love that they have a few Pinot Noir’s, as that’s my favorite red wine, and I like their Sauv Blanc quite a bit. The blends are interesting, love the Cab based 3 Sum…heck, they’re all nice for different reasons and depending on the meal you’re having or the mood in you’re in.
Asuncion Ridge also has an Inn at a separate property location, not at the downtown tasting room, so check that out if you are even in need of accommodations while in paradise…I mean Paso Robles…I’m always screwing up and calling it paradise. Anyways, that’s about all I got for this one, be sure to check out and if you see Teresa in the tasting room be sure to say hi.
One last note (having nothing to do with wine or Paso Robles): Take a deep breath. Find some solitude and silence. Then take a look around you (physically and in your mind) and realize just how fortunate you are. I saw this sign online this morning that says, “Have faith in thyself, for thou art a bad-ass motherfucker”, I think that’s a really good note to wake up to every morning. Have a great weekend folks.

Great post and thank you for sharing! I absolutely love Asuncion Ridge’s wine, especially the Pinot. Something to do with their vineyard getting coastal influence on the West side…I’m no expert but I certainly love to drink it 🙂 The Inn is awesome as well. I’ve been up there and the views are amazing. You actually get a view of the ocean. What’s not to love!

That’s awesome Tim, never been to the inn…that may have to be a getaway for Annie and I sometime. Totally agree on the wine. Hope to see you soon, love and lots of magical magic being sent your way. 🙂

Thank you! I need all the magical magic I can get 🙂 The Inn is a great getaway and I totally recommend it. It’s beautiful, peaceful, and Philips cooking is ridiculous!

Sounds like a plan, Tim. And as for magical magic…there’s a lot being sent your way. Whatever you need!! 🙂
