Well, it’s good to be back and feeling much better. For those that were unaware, our household was attacked by the flu this week…not fun trying to take care of a child while Annie and I both have that going on. So it goes, we’re back on track!
As you may have seen from our post on Monday, we spent last weekend in Cambria to get away from the little dude for a couple of days. One of the things we did was finally make our way to Stolo Family Winery.
The facility is beautiful and it’s surrounded by some exquisite country living. It’s surrounded by vineyards and green rolling hills while be tucked back away from the noise and traffic. A perfect spot for a picnic if you ask me.
Here’s what we tasted at Stolo:
2012 Stolo Family Vineyards Sauvignon Blanc $18.00
2009 Stolo Family Vineyards Chardonnay$18.00
2011 Stolo Family Vineyards Chardonnay$21.00
2011 Stolo Family Vineyards Pinot Noir $36.00
2009 TreViti Wines, Christopher Joyce Vineyard Zinfandel $18.00
2007 TreViti Wines, Stolo Family Vineyards Syrah $21.00
The TreViti label is becoming the Stolo Family Vineyards label for the sake of simplicity but for now they have some of that label left.
We enjoyed all the wines really. The standouts for me were the Chards and the Pinot Noir. It’s always interesting tasting Chards that are a bit older than what most normally drink. This 2009 Chard had some good funk to it and was quite nice. Annie preferred that one while I preferred the 2011. The Syrah was also well done and you can’t beat the price points.
Maria, Stolo family member, and Angie were awesome in the tasting room. Great customer service, knowledgeable, and conversational. It really is a fun little spot in one of the Central Coasts great little towns.
Be sure to check them out and let us know what you think! And on that note, Happy Zin Fest/ Vintage Paso Weekend!!

We discovered Stolo last time we were in Cambria in September. We had the same experience you did and we love the wines. We will go back next visit. We were the only ones in the tasting room when we were there which made it even more enjoyable. We enjoy family run and enjoy talking to them without crowds.

I hear ya, Jo. Always nice to have the wine folks one on one. Stolo is a great spot and well worth running over to Cambria for. 🙂
