Last week Annie and I had a chance to head over to the new restaurant, Mistura, at the River Oaks Golf Course. By ‘chance’, I mean we had a babysitter so we left the house. We’ve been to this facility before when it was other restaurants and I like the space as well as location.
When you’re in the restaurant itself, you look out on the 6-hole, ‘player development’ golf course…and with the exception of the ocean, I think golf courses are one of the most scenic views around. You also get views of the hills on the west side of Paso Robles which means you get sunset lighting during dinner. As I said, great location.
We arrived right about when they opened so there weren’t many people there. However, by the time we left the dining area was completely full and there were people in the bar as well. That’s a good sign. The customer service was fantastic. We interacted with three different people while there and each was kind, informative, and friendly.
Due to this being our first time with the menu (check it out here on MenuClub.com) and it being Peruvian, we weren’t totally sure what to get but what we ended up ordering was amazing. We tried three appetizers, all of which were unique, fresh, and loaded with flavor.
We ordered (see pics below):
Trio de Pancitos
Tamalito Negro
Habla Causita
Additional information: They are wine and beer only, no full bar. Their current hours of operation are Tuesday through Saturday, 4pm-9pm. Address is 700 Clubhouse Drive in Paso Robles at the River Oaks Golf Course, not the Paso Robles Golf Club, which also has a Clubhouse Drive.
The takeaway: We will definitely be back. The location is great. If you aren’t in the mood to deal with downtown it’s a great alternative. Customer service, based on the one time we’ve gone, was perfect. And…the food was fantastic. We really thought the flavors were unique and a nice addition to Paso Robles.
See you at Mistura!

Appetizers look good, is it spicy? We will add them to our bucket list, thanks for sharing.

Beverly, I didn’t think it was too spicy or anything. Really great flavors.

Now the quest to find a babysitter 😉

We had the opportunity to have dinner at Mistura last Friday night. We were not disappointed. We had the same experience with the staff. They were fantastic and genuinely interested in our experience with them. Our dishes were delicious. We will definitely be going back.

Awesome to hear that we are not alone, Stephanie. That’s fantastic!
