Cambria isn’t exactly the “big city”. It’s allure is the small town, quaint village vibe. So you’d think dining options would be few and far between but in actuality this place serves up some tasty choices. As you may or may not know, I am currently a ‘Visit Cambria’ (#VisitCambria) ambassador and on our recent overnight (you can read about that here) we went out and enjoyed some of what Cambria has to offer…on a plate.
If you’ve been reading this blog at all over the last 5 years (yes, we’ve been at this for that long) you’ve noticed that we love Cambria. Annie and I used to go over there all the time prior to Sammy, now we take him over often, and we always try to take our out-of-town guests over to experience the uniqueness of Cambria. So we’ve been to many of the restaurants in Cambria but here I will talk specifically about the most recent two.
When we got to Cambria we decided to have lunch at the Main Street Grill. We’ve been there before and have always had good experiences. This time it was football Sunday so we sat inside rather than out on the patio so we could watch some games. It’s a super casual vibe with really good food (great BBQ) and a solid wine and beer list.
We shared a bowl of clam chowder and a steak salad. Both were great and on a cool fall day in Cambria that clam chowder really hit the spot! One thing to remember about the Main Street Grill, it’s cash only…no cards. There is an ATM machine in the restaurant though so no worries.
That night we headed down to Robin’s Restaurant for dinner. We had been there once before and enjoyed it so we went back. It’s a quaint, eclectic little spot in the heart of Cambria. Here we shared a cheese and meat plate, calamari, and the pork and green sauce flatbread pizza. All were absolutely perfect. I have become a huge calamari fan so it’s always fun trying it at different restaurants to see who has the best…Robin’s ranks right up there for me.
I strongly recommend both Robin’s and the Main Street Grill if you are ever in Cambria. As I mentioned above, there are so many great dining options. You can check out a more complete list here. What are your favorite restaurants in Cambria?

Never been to the Main St. Grill, but have had good meals at the Sow’s Ear, Robin’s, and the Sea Chest. If you go to the Sea Chest take cash or check. No CC, but fun.

Gary, been to Sow’s Ear and Sea Chest as well. Both of those places are fantastic. Making me hungry just thinking about it.

Hi. I have been bringing my family to Cambria for almost 30 springs now, and we have added a fall visit during the last 6 or 7 years as well. Our favorite restaurant USED to be Mustache Pete’s, which is gone now. We also used to visit Main Street Grill during every visit, sometimes twice. However about a year ago, we walked in one evening, waited in a short line, and when it was our turn, the counter staff walked away and started doing “chores” behind the counter. When we called someone over, we were told the place was closed. but the place was full! And the people just in front of us had their order taken. Sadly, they didnt care, so we left and never returned. I have been to Robin’s a few times, never disappointed. We visit Las Cambritas and Moonstone Beach Bar and Grill each trip for at least one happy hour. J&J Pizza delivers to vacation rental houses. We get our pastries and cakes from The French Corner Bakery and visit the Taco Truck across the street, but we havent found our new favorite yet. I am curious to see others’ input.

Cindy, good info. I would recommend giving Main Street Grill a chance again. Everyone is entitled to a bad experience…always good to give them another try. I haven’t been to a few you mentioned so I will add them to our list! Thank you.

I love The Black Cat and the Sow’s ear for romantic dinners. Her gnocchi are pillow puffs of goodness.
Adore Linn’s. Their baguette French toast breakfast is squee-worthy. Their chef Matt, is taking them to the next level. I pray that the two soups he created for Soupabration go on the menu. They were so delicious that they impressed a James Beard award winning judge.
Live the Sea Chest, too

Ange, not been to Linn’s in quite some time. Seachest is awesome. Black Cat and Sow’s Ear are great! Kind of amazed how many good spots there are in such a small town.
