We recently put up a blog post about how there have been some changes at Villa Creek Restaurant in downtown Paso Robles. The most significant change is that they are now open for lunch Tuesday through Saturday from noon to 4pm (although a little birdie tells me they are open at 11:30am) and dinner is Tuesday through Saturday 4pm to 10pm.
We’ve always enjoyed their food and have wanted them open for lunch for a long time. Apparently, long ago in a galaxy far away, they were open for lunch but ditched it and have now brought it back. This means another great lunch option in downtown Paso Robles. A win for folks, like us, who like food and alcohol and don’t want to wait until 4pm.
We stopped in for lunch recently to check it all out and the other big change we noticed was all new paint on the inside. New colors, fresh paint, some new décor, and it all came out great. Well done folks! After rubbing the fresh paint, and sniffing it too, we sat down on the outdoor patio right on the corner of 12th Street and Pine St., directly across from the park. This is one of those great people watching patios.
For lunch we ordered (and shared):
Shrimp in Garlic Red Wine Broth- shrimp, spicy broth, flour tortillas $16.00
Grilled Pork and Pate Bahn Mi- pickled carrots, cilantro, jalapeno, on baguette $14.00
Both were outstanding! That shrimp dish is not always on the menu but when it is…we shove it down our throats. The Grilled pork thingy was new to me but wow, so good. The combo of the two dishes got pretty spicy and all I could think about was what adult beverage to order next…who am I kidding, I’m wondering that even when I’m not eating spicy food.
There you go kids. Villa Creek. Open for lunch. Get some. And don’t forget to rub the new paint.
