It felt like we hadn’t been to Villa Creek Restaurant in a while so on a recent ‘date day’ (just means we had a babysitter) we stopped in to see what was happening on the menu. We ordered the guacamole, chips, and salsa because it’s really freakin’ good. The salsa has this great smoky characteristic to it. I could drink that straight up through a straw.
We also ordered the ‘Beef Sugo Pizza’ (braised beef sauce, bel paese, arugula $13.00) which we had not had before and I loved it. I loved the crust and the beef was absolutely delicious. Annie and I just shared those two dishes and it was perfect. Filling enough without feeling overly full.
If I’m not mistaken this was our second or third lunch there and I’m still convinced that opening for lunch was a great move on their part. The food is really good and the freshening up they’ve done in there has really perked the place up.
That’s it folks. A short post today but I wanted to throw the reminder out there that downtown Paso Robles has some fantastic lunch spots…so get down there and support local business.
