Annie recently brought food home from The Full Belly Deli here in Paso Robles on Commerce Way. She says we’ve eaten there before but I don’t remember therefore I must be right. Anyways, she got me ‘The El Paso’ (turkey with jack cheese, avocado, green leaf lettuce, tomato and mayo on your choice of bread – $7.25) and I loved it. It was huge, tons of turkey and as an avocado whore…plenty of the green California gold too.
I don’t want to start two paragraphs in a row with ‘Annie’ so I am avoiding that by writing this sentence. Now let’s continue, Annie got herself ‘The Captain’ (your choice of roast beef or turkey breast, cheddar cheese, red onions, tomato, Ortega chilis and cream cheese grilled on focaccia – $7.95) and I will let her let you know her thoughts here: {It was delicious. Thank you for asking. Sincerely, Annie.}
Even Sammy got in on the action and got a ‘Little Belly Sandwich’ (turkey with cheddar, mayo/ mustard on honey wheat bread – $4.95) off the kids menu. The kid’s meals come with a small bag of chips, applesauce, and a juice box. Side note…they have breakfast too but check their website for hours of operation.
It’s funny, we live on the east side of Paso Robles but when it comes to food we mostly talk about the west side, otherwise known as downtown. The east side has some good joints though, like Hunter Ranch Golf Course, Broken Earth Winery, Mistura, Golden Oak Grill, Cass Winery, and…well that’s all I remember right now but you get the idea.
Be sure to go check them out if you haven’t and let me know what you think. Also, are there any other east side food spots that I’m forgetting?
