I’m not done yet. Two more wineries to cover from our big wine tasting day with our out-of-town friends, Christine from Toronto and Denise from Phoenix. I already talked about Tablas Creek Vineyard and Halter Ranch Vineyard…now we’ll move to downtown Paso Robles and talk about Asuncion Ridge.
This is one of my downtown favorites. Our friend Teresa works there and it’s always a pleasure to see her and hangout. The tasting room itself is big for a downtown tasting room and lastly, the wines are really good.
Here’s what we tasted:
2014 Sauvignon Blanc $25.00
2011 Estate Pinot Noir $38.00
2012 Estate Pinot Noir $38.00
2012 Salacious (49% Grenache, 36% Mourvedre, 15% Syrah) $36.00
2012 Lascivious (76% Mourvedre, 19% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Syrah) $36.00
2011 Nefarious (86% Syrah, 14% Grenache) $44.00
2013 Volopyuous (Late Harvest Sauvignon Blanc) $25.00 375ml bottle
I enjoy their Sauvignon Blanc quite a bit and I’m a big Pinot Noir fan. This day I enjoyed the 2012 Pinot the most. Big fan of the Salacious and Nefarious as well. All in all it was a great time. It was cool hanging with Teresa and letting our out-of-towners chat with her as well so they could learn a bit about the wines.
If you’re ever downtown and need wine…go see Teresa, she’ll take great care of you!
