We’ve been to Il Cortile Ristorante many times and I’ve written about many of those visits right here. On a recent date night, we made it back and I felt it worthy to write about.
Here’s what we had:
Carpaccio di agnello – Lamb carpaccio with piave cheese topped with a truffle infused aged balsamic $15
Ricotta gnocchi – Ricotta and spinach gnocchi with a creamy gorgonzola sauce $19
Carne di cervo – Pan seared venison medallion with a red wine sauce $38
Wines we had:
Ranchero Cellars Grenache Blanc
Terradora Falanghina, Campania
Ken Volk Pinot Noir
Fattoria del Cerro Vino Nobile de Montepulciano, Tuscany
I don’t need to go over the food, every dish was absolutely phenomenal. Each dish was prepared wonderfully and that venison was cooked absolutely perfectly. Some restaurant experiences just stand out and this night was one of those.
The wines we chose were more about the fact that they sounded good rather than trying really hard to pair them. That said, it all went so well together. Bottom line, this was one of those food adventures that will stick in my mind for some time. Well done, Il Cortile.

I totally agree. The dishes we had that night were amazing. Is Il Cortile your favorite restaurant downtown?
