We were finally able to get out and visit Lago Giuseppe on HWY 46 West. Michael Aanerud first told us of this joint back when he poured for us at Cypher Winery. Michael is married to one of the daughters of the owner.
The property is absolutely gorgeous, which makes sense because it’s also used as an event space. Below you’ll be able to see some interior photos that I got but I was unable to get photos outside due to rain (which I’m not complaining about, we need the rain). I guess you’ll just have to go out there and see it for yourself.
Here’s what we tasted:
2014 Bellezza Nona (25% Malvasia Bianca 30% Orange Muscat 45% Viognier) $24.00
2011 Nebbiolo $32.00
2014 Pinot Noir $36.00
2012 Tre Donne (Three Women) (Zinfandel, Syrah, Grenache blend) $36.00
2014 Tempranillo $36.00
2012 Cabernet Sauvignon $36.00
Annie and I both really enjoyed the wines and the experience. The white blend and the Nebbiolo were super interesting, I’d say our favorites but the Cab and Tre Donne were right up there as well. A strong lineup of wines for sure.
A big thank you to co-owner, Jeanine and daughter, Rhiannon, for the great wine tasting experience. It was cool learning about the family, their past, how they got into Lago Giuseppe, and some history of that property and the surrounding area. Big thanks to Michael for reaching out to us again about checking the place out, well worth it.
I definitely recommend that you go check out their wines and if you’re in need of an event space, and I know there are many great ones in Paso, add this one to your list.
Side Notes:
Tasting fee $10.00/ $15.00 keep the glass
