We’ve always loved the wines produced at Alta Colina but for some reason, we just hadn’t made it out there for a while. That recently changed when we visited after hearing about bubbles! Yep, Alta Colina made a sparkling wine (100% Grenache Blanc) and it is delicious!
Here’s what we tasted:
2018 Grenache Blanc (100%) $30.00
2017 12 0’Clock High (100% Viognier) $38.00
2016 Sun Worshipper (67% Mourvedre 20% Syrah 13% Grenache) $58.00
2016 Toasted Slope (100% Syrah) $50.00
Not on the main menu:
2018 Lynn’s Cuvee (100% Grenache Blanc sparkling) $50.00
2016 Ann’s Block Petite Sirah $50.00
I don’t really feel that I need to say much about the wines other than we loved them. We picked up a bottle of the sparkling, Grenache Blanc, 12 0’Clock High, and Sun Worshipper. Thanks to Ed for taking care of us in the tasting room, much appreciated.
After tasting we grabbed a glass of wine to go out back and enjoy some food from LouLou Cheese Girl, which is owned and operated by Maliysa Lou. More to come on this new food provider in a future blog post. I bring all of this up just to say that we had an amazing experience. Food, wine, and playing catch with Sammy in the winery. Good times.
