We stopped in to visit our friend Amy from Ranchero Cellars in Paso Underground and decided to taste the wines from Ultima Tulie Wines. We had been hearing about these wines and were glad they were finally able to open up a tasting spot in this downtown location, which also currently houses Lost Blues Wines, Hubba Wines, and the aforementioned Ranchero Cellars.
There was one wine by another winery, Primitive Wines, that was poured with Ultima Tulie as well.
What we tasted…
Ultima Tulie Wines:
2017 Chardonnay (Santa Maria Valley Bien Nacido Vineyards) $38.00
2015 Syrah/ Grenache (Central Coast Murmur, Jespersen, White Hawk) $45.00
2016 Syrah (Edna Valley Jespersen) $50.00
Primitive Wines:
2016 Hunter Gatherer Cabernet Sauvignon $28.00
The wines were very enjoyable and Marcy (spelling?), the woman that poured for us, was super fun to chat with. I’d have to say that the Syrah/ Grenache was my personal favorite but as I said, they were all quite good. This all goes back to the point that I/ we are not wine critics. I know what I like and if I don’t like something…I’m not going to talk about it here on our blog.
If you haven’t been in to Paso Underground, you’re really missing out. This current group of wineries pouring in there are legit!
