Our last blog post (I think) of 2019. January or February of 2020 will mark 10 years that we’ve been doing this. Pretty wild. Now, to the blog post:
We recently had an early dinner at Jeffry’s Wine Country BBQ in downtown Paso Robles and as we were finishing up, I looked out across the courtyard and saw the Détente Wines tasting room. I missed the memo and did not know they had a tasting room. I was however, familiar with them because they have poured at Garagiste Festival and I’m on the Board of Directors for the event.
Anyway, we decided to go check them out and I’m glad we did.
It’s a fun, friendly tasting room. It honestly felt like we were hanging out with them in their living room. I love that vibe. Trevor, co-owner, and I believe his wife, were the ones that poured for us and they were great.
In the photos below you can see their menu as well as a few photos of their tasting room and wine labels. We really enjoyed their Rose (65% Grenache 20% Syrah 15% Graciano $26), 2017 Eastern Bloc (70% Cabernet Sauvignon 30% Merlot $38), and 2018 Classified (Pinot Noir with Grenache Noir $32).
So, when you’re cruising through downtown or grabbing a bite at Jeffry’s Wine Country BBQ, be sure to go in and check them out.
I will end by saying Happy New Year because that’s what we do this time of year. I wish you nothing but the best. We all go through ups and downs each year but I hope the good outweighs the bad, I hope the bad is brief and you have the strength to deal with it. If I had one wish moving forward, I wish we could all relax a little more. There has to be away to get along a little more and let go of all the negative bullshit that the media and our government try to propagate. Let’s be better than them. As they used to say back in the day, don’t believe the hype. Cheers!
