We were so lucky to be invited to stay at a dear family friend’s Morro Bay vacation home this weekend, and we took the opportunity to relax, enjoy, and attempt to get bored! This home is right on the “Morro Strand” beach, overlooking the beautiful waves and dormant volcano known as Morro Rock. Sure, we’ve been to Morro Bay plenty of times, but this was a special experience that we wanted to be sure and make the most of…so we spent a lot of time on the back deck, just soaking up the view and listening to the waves crash. We watched the fog roll in, we watched the sun peek out and burn the fog off, and we literally tried to prove to ourselves that we know how to put our feet up and enjoy life.
Wait…no mention of wine yet??? Yeah…we drank some! We opened a bottle of 2008 Chamisal Domain Alfred Chardonnay. This stuff is awesome, a typical Chardonnay that fulfills all of the hopes and dreams that one might have of a light, creamy, flavorful California wine. This was the perfect choice for a Summer afternoon at the coast. What better way to exemplify coastal California living then to share a great bottle of Chardonnay on a sunny, lazy day?
So, we’ve shown you Chamisal, and we’ve told you about how much we dig their wines, the people, and the beautiful tasting room located just out of San Luis Obispo…but partaking in wine around here is so much more than just going to a tasting room and working your way down the list; it’s about finding wine that you like and then enjoying it in your life. Take a great wine to a great place, and celebrate the good times! Make some memories and realize how every moment of life is worth enjoying, no matter what you’re doing. Get out there and create the life and make the experiences that YOU want, and that feed your spirit!
Life is short, what are you going to do to make it GREAT?!?!?

Great to see you two are relaxing and living life to its fullest. We will be staying at Morro Strand State Beach in August and cannot wait to explore this area. Maybe pack a picnic lunch and a bottle of vino and just kick back and enjoy the view.

Wow, Renee! You’ll LOVE it in Morro Bay!!! The weather was perfect, foggy mornings and sunny afternoons. That’s a lot different than our 90-110 temps in Paso Robles. You’ll have to check out Stax Wine Bar in the downtown area. Let us know what you think!!!

Looks like you guys are livin’ the life! Good choice of wine. I had the pleasure of spending a day with Chamisal winemaker Fintan Du Fresne a couple of years ago. Great guy, great wines. Cheers!
