There’s a co-op wine lounge and bistro that’s relatively new right in the downtown of Paso Robles. The fun thing is, there’s 10 wineries pouring in the lounge…from all over the Paso Robles wine AVA. Maybe they don’t have a tasting room, or maybe they just wanted a location in the downtown. One of the unique wineries pouring in the lounge is Roxo Cellars, specializing in fine ports. http://www.roxocellars.com/. It doesn’t get much better than a wonderfully rich, deep port! You can even grab a cigar to enjoy outside on the cigar patio (coming very soon). We chatted with Jeff Steele, owner and winemaker at Roxo, about the lounge and the vibe.
The atmosphere is just that; a lounge! You can belly up to any one of the bars and taste through their list, or pick a few to taste from different wineries, or you can even grab a bottle or glass and sit on one of the plush couches and enjoy the scene. They offer various small plates to go with your wine…and they’re open late on weekends for your wine enjoyment. Check it out, and tell ’em Hoot ‘n Annie sent you!
***Note: I called Jeff Steel ‘Eric’ in the video…my sincere apologies to you, Jeff!!! I had just looked at a mailing list on the counter with a guy named ‘Eric’ on the top of the list (bad excuse, I know, but hey)!!!

Love it, it should be very successful there in Paso Robles. Too much competion in the big city with the way the economy is….our favorite wine shop just closed on Saturday 29th after 2 1/2 years in business, we are going to miss them very much (WineStyles-Seal Beach).
