I’ll just go ahead and say it…I think lavender is cool and all, but a festival? Just because it doesn’t float my boat doesn’t mean it doesn’t float other boats. Annie and I went down and checked out the Lavender Festival in the Paso Robles Downtown Park about a week ago with the goal of simply seeing what was going on. We live in a great town and I think it’s important to get out there and explore all of it, even the things that seem like they may not be all that fun.
Aside from the amazing lavender smell all throughout the park there was olive oil, folks that made furniture from wine barrels, other wood furniture, and even some cool and unique birdhouses. Still doesn’t sound fun? Well, it was for us…we love mingling at the events in the park and checking out what other people are doing. We even ran into the lady that makes necklaces with old keys, Annie bought one from her last year at the Lavender Festival and guess what? She bought another one this year.
The point is, get off your butt and go explore. Just because something may not seem like fun YOU can make it fun. And afterwards you can always go get a drink!! I took these photos to give you a little slice of downtown Paso Robles events…small, quaint, cool people, beautiful scenery, and supporting other people that are trying to make a living. Good times peeps!!

Hi kids. I’m back in town again for a while. Interesting info on the lavender. Marcy uses about a gallon of lavender oil a night. Sprinkles it all over the bed and pillow. I have to be careful not to slip out.
BBQ Sunday if your around. 12-til we run out of meat.
Great to hear from you Gary!!! Interesting about you two in the bedroom with lavender…still pondering that one! I will check with Annie about Sunday!! Hope you guys have been well.
I love lavendar, and going to festsivals like that, when we stayed at the Apple Farm in SLO we had a package deal went to the Olive Oil -did some tasting and bought a couple bottles, then to the Lavendar Farm I think it was Green Acres, another one I buy is Clairmont Lavendar Farm in Santa Barbara/Los Olivos. I buy it all, I use the mist for my pillows and on my deck for hot flashes the owner said it works and it does!!! I guess putting the oil on the bed is like having a message, my husband likes to message it on me….lol I buy the oils for gifts and women love it. Cheers!
Wow, that sounds like a great trip, Bev! We’ll have to check out the Lavender farms around here and get a hold of some products. There’s so many great uses for lavender, and it smells awesome! Have a great weekend, Bev!!!
