It’s been an interesting time to see the evolution of wine events here in Paso Robles. There has been a lot of growth to the point where it seems like many of the events are really trying to up the game over the previous one. My opinion…I think it’s great to see more creativity going in to these things and more importantly, I’m really stoked to see many of the events recently happening in the name of charity.
Paso Robles Fork and Corks Was A Success!
Another one to add to that list now is the first Paso Fork & Corks Festival which was held out at the picturesque Halter Ranch property. I’ve written about Halter Ranch before and if you have not had a chance to personally see the property, it’s a must see. The event was held out in the “main area” (not sure what else to call it) which is surrounded by old bars, a covered bridge, and the old grain silo (I believe that’s what it was)…not to mention the vineyards and oak trees that Paso is known for and named after.
This event was put on by American General Media (local radio folks, in my mind most notably The Cork Dorks) along with all the sponsors and volunteers to benefit must! charities. You’ve heard me mention must! charities before and I will say it again, it’s an absolutely amazing group of people and partners that are attempting to do all they can to make our little paradise better and stronger. The list of wineries and winemakers on the must! partner list is amazing and that list continues to grow!!
The restaurants and caterers, the wineries and spirits, along with the list of artisan goods was stellar. Most of the participants we were familiar with so I don’t need to go into a lot of detail, if you’re interested in seeing that list you can see it here. It was great to see the community coming together yet again, in the name of giving back.
I think it’s too easy to say “it’s not our problem” or “I don’t have the money or time”, trust me, I say it too…but there comes a time when you/ we need to stand up and help our community. That’s why I am so appreciative of this organization and all those that are coming together locally to do something. Annie and I had a great time out at Halter Ranch and as usual it was great seeing so many familiar faces.
Check out the slideshow below for some cool pics from the event. Thanks again to American general Media, The Cork Dorks (Adam & Jeremy), Halter Ranch, and must! charities! Keep up the great work.
Happy Friday!!
