I thought I would give another little round up of things that struck me as important to bring up.
As many of you may have heard, breaking the Paso Robles AVA up into smaller groups is in the news again, although I don’t think it ever really left the news. It’s been an ongoing topic for some time. You can take a look at the links below for more information but my $0.02 is that it’s not wise to break it up at this time. I think very few wine drinkers are actually interested in the differences in soil and whatnot. This area is indeed very diverse but I think it would be more confusing to people than anything else…especially because they are talking about breaking it up into 11 (yes, I said 11) smaller groups.

In other news, Savor the Central Coast started yesterday at Hearst Castle and continues through Sunday. The main event is held at Santa Margarita Ranch and it’s an absolutely awesome event. We’re taking this year off partially due to the kiddo but also because (as I have stated before) I’m kind of burnt out on events. Check the Savor website for more details.
On a selfish note, if you didn’t read Wednesday’s post on here (I can’t imagine what the hell else you’d be doing) please check it out and leave any info in the comment section…look forward to seeing more people comment on it. I’m really looking for your opinions on “what’s hot” in Paso from your perspective.
Back to real news…the Paso Robles wine region was nominated for a Wine Enthusiast award, as was Hope Family Wines. That’s pretty damn awesome…as you know. Check the link for more info on that.
Last but not least, we added a tab at the top called “HnA Shop” that is linked to an Amazon store we made so if you see stuff in there you like and buy it from here we actually make a small percentage from Amazon. This was another option for us to try in an attempt to make a little bit of money from the blog site…we put a lot of time in on this blog and we’re trying to add more things that are useful to visitors of Paso as well as be able to make money from the effort we put in without asking you to send us a check.
We will be adding a merchandise section at some point…shirts and stuff with the HnA logo on it and some sayings about Paso Robles on them. As I’ve stated before too (in the last blog post) we will be adding more tabs of value. We want to be able to give people real info about Paso from the point of view of locals and tourists alike. Let us know if you have any suggestions or things we should include…much appreciated.
That’s it for now folks…have a good one!
