About 2 miles West on 46, you’ll find Grey Wolf Vineyards and Cellars. An old farmhouse on the top of a hill has been converted into the tasting room for this small, family run winery. Grey Wolf’s tasting list consists of all red wines, Grenache, Tempranillo, Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petite Syrah and they produce about 2,000 cases annually. The tasting room was quaint, quiet, and pretty low key. The views were beautiful, especially on the cloudy afternoon that we were out. While we bought a bottle of the Petite Syrah, none of the wines really stood out for us, but there were visitors in the tasting room that were looking specifically for one of Grey Wolf’s Cabernet Sauvignons, so they’ve definitely made an impact out there. We enjoyed chatting with our host, who described the wines well, and we were entertained with the group of tasting room mascots…2 dogs and a huge cat! Be sure to try the homemade bread dipped in tasty olive oils there at the tasting bar.
