As always, there’s something happening in Paso Robles.
Coming up on the weekend of March 14 through March 16 it is Paso Robles Zinfandel weekend. Most wineries will have something going on at their facility. Places like Broken Earth Winery (Disclaimer: I work for them) will have live music, food, and of course wine tasting. Another spot, Bon Niche, which is typically appointment only will be open that whole weekend so maybe go check them out.
Another possibility would be the concert at Vines on the Marycrest on March 15. There are a lot of choices out there or you could just sit at home and contemplate the meaning of life…but that seems like a waste of time.
If you’re into stogies, Boyd’s Tobacco & Elegant Gifts has a bonus event on March 16 and their regular monthly event (cigars, wine, and dinner) on March 20.
I’m sure there’s more happening but this is what I’m giving you today.
Additional thoughts:
It’s interesting to me that people complain relentlessly about the cold in winter but also the heat in summer. Similarly, people going into a panic when we have drought conditions but then complain about having to deal with the rain or snow. Mother Nature doesn’t give a crap about you…or me. Deal with the conditions as they are or find somewhere else to live.
I only bring this up because complaining does nothing other than make you sound like a punk and probably irritate some people around you. Let’s enjoy what we do have and let the weather chips fall where they may.
On the drought note, I strongly urge you to conserve water. We’re in the process of pulling our grass out in order to use less exterior water but there are a lot of things you can do. Google “conserve water” and you’ll see what I mean. Take shorter showers, wash your vehicle less, get rid of grass and go with native plants on drip, don’t hose your driveway down (I’ve seen my moronic neighbor wash his down 3 times in one day…I wonder if he reads this?), and so on.
You get the idea…
Anyways, have an awesome weekend feel free to let me know if there’s anything big I forgot or if there’s specific things you’d like to see us get into on this blog. Cheers!
