Last week we (Annie, Sammy, and I) headed over to Sculpterra Winery to meet up with some friends for live music. We’ve been to Sculpterra many times but this was only our second or third visit for music. I’m really glad we went because it turns out that the band, The Salty Suites, kicks ass.
Two dudes and one woman (don’t know their names and couldn’t find them online) play what I would call folk/ country with a touch of rock on some of the songs. They each play an instrument and sing but wow, she had an amazing voice. Sitting in the sculpture garden at Sculpterra, surrounded by vineyards, made for an amazing evening.
In addition to the live music there was, of course, wine and food. We enjoyed their Rose (37% Grenache 20% Syrah 20% Mourvedre 15% Pinot Noir 8% Primitivo) and Viognier while nibbling on some snacks Annie had brought but we also had to partake in the Shave N’ Flav Catering. Annie ordered a chicken burrito and two al pastor tacos. Although the food took a while (it seems he was on his own) it was absolutely amazing. If you get a chance to get his food, do it…you won’t be disappointed.
Sculpterra also has a bocce ball court, checkers tables, ping pong, and foosball table set up outside. It’s an incredible space. Tons of seating. Lots to do if you so choose. Even cruising the paths through the sculpture garden with a glass of Rose makes for a lovely afternoon. I would definitely say this is more of a destination rather than taste wine and split.
Thanks to Kelly, Ron, Megan, and Brock. Always good to see you and hang out. I think we owe Ron some peanuts.
