Full 2016 Dining Guide Revealed in Wine Spectator’s August Issue
Paso Robles, CA (July 13, 2016) — Il Cortile Ristorante has been honored for its outstanding wine program in Wine Spectator’s 2016 Restaurant Wine List Awards. The restaurant is recognized among eight other winners from San Luis Obispo County and thousands from all over the globe as a top destination for wine lovers.
“On behalf of Wine Spectator, I’m thrilled to congratulate each and every award-winning restaurant. They should be very proud,” said Marvin R. Shanken, Editor and Publisher, Wine Spectator.
“We are proud of our wine list inspired by the food created by Chef Santos,” said Carole MacDonal, owner and managing partner of Il Cortile Ristorante. “Wine completes the dining experience. Our list offers exquisite wines from Paso Robles, the Central Coast and selections from Italy’s many wine regions.”
Wine Spectator began its program to recognize the world’s best wine lists in 1981. There are three levels: the Award of Excellence, the Best of Award of Excellence and the Grand Award.
Il Cortile Ristorante has won the Award of Excellence, for three consecutive years – 2014, 2015 and 2016. This award recognizes restaurants whose wine lists feature a well-chosen assortment of quality producers along with a thematic match to the menu in both price and style.
The complete list of award winners is available in print in Wine Spectator’s August issue, on newsstands July 19, and online at the newly minted Restaurants.WineSpectator.com, where visitors can search and access exclusive content on the more than 3,500 restaurants. The full list is also available for free on iOS via the new Restaurant Awards app, which allows users to look for dining spots in any location with maps, choosing by wine strengths, cuisine type, pricing and more.

Great restaurant, great chef. I’ve never had anything but great meals here. I especially love to go in the fall when they have the white truffles in for about 6 weeks. Worth the wait and the dollars. Wine list has been consistently very good.

Completely agree, Gary. Il Cortile is one of the downtown restaurants I send tourists to.

Congratulations! No surprise here, thank you for setting the high bar.

For sure, Jill!

We send people there too, but also to Bistro, Artisan, McPhees, Gaucho, The Catch, Buena Tavola, Thomas Hill, and I’m missing so many. Paso is really blessed to have such a fine array of really good restaurants. Harder and harder to choose.
Matt (aka Hoot) says
I totally agree with that too. The only one of those we have not been to yet is The Catch. Need to get in there for dinner soon.
