I’m not going to write a bunch about the Garagiste Festival because I say the same thing every year. It’s a great event for people that love wine and an even greater event for those wine lovers that enjoy small lot wine producers that craft some absolutely incredible juice.
We were there for part of the early access tasting as well as the general tasting. Some of the wineries that stood out to us that we are already familiar with were Alta Colina, Caliza, Bon Niche, Circle B, and Nicora. Now, a few that stood out that I had never tasted before were Amor Fati, Croma Vera, Hoi Poi Loi, and TOP Winery (Nick from Nicora recommended this one).
If I did not mention your name it’s for one of two reasons, we did not taste your wine that day or we did and my palate was already fried and I can’t give an honest assessment. How’s that for being impartial?
All that said, it’s a unique event in that you get to choose from over 60 wineries that all make very little wine and many of which do not have tasting rooms. It’s well worth the price of admission in my opinion. I am on the Board of Directors for this event but my opinion of the event is my own. Think about it, why would I want to be on the BoD of an event I didn’t like?
Check out the slideshow below and we hope to see you at next year’s event. Be sure to follow Garagiste Festival on Facebook and their website because they do hold events in other areas like Solvang, Los Angeles, and they’re looking for a new spot up north. Thanks again to the Garagiste team.
