We were recently told by a friend about JC’s Kitchen in Templeton. She said the tacos were amazing and proceeded to tell us that JC is Juan Carlos who, turns out, we actually know from the old Mistura Restaurant in Paso Robles. He still works for them but in their new location in San Luis Obispo.
JC’s is located on Main Street behind Templeton Spirits. Annie, Sammy, and I went and here’s what we ordered; Sammy had an al pastor quesadilla. Annie had three tacos: lengua, cabeza, and chicken. I had three tacos as well: al pastor, asada, and carnitas.
The food was legit. If you go there and say the tacos aren’t good, you’re clearly not living your best life. You can see a photo of the current menu in the slideshow below. Also, something worth noting, there is no alcohol served there…but hey, you’re right next to a liquor store.
You need to go check this spot out. We thought the food was awesome. On top of that, Juan Carlos is a super cool guy. He came out of the kitchen and chatted with us for a bit to fill us in on things. Thank you for the great food and conversation.
There is a covered patio to sit at and enjoy the food but I also noticed many people ordering food to go. Great idea! As I have often said, tacos are the perfect food vessel, any place and any time.
