The first thing that comes to mind when I think of Hug Cellars in Paso Robles is the fact that Augie and Raquel are literally, THE nicest people in the world!! Every single time we see them they make us feel like family, it’s awesome. On top of that they have this great little tasting room over on HWY 46 East that is in a little industrial complex near Barrel 27 and the rookie member, Brochelle Vineyards.
The actual tasting room is small, quaint, and fun but when the weather is decent they may have their pizza oven in the parking lot or on festival weekends they might have a “wild game” BBQ going on…which they had while we were there on Paso Robles Zin Fest weekend!!
The wines have been consistently enjoyable each time we’ve been in. Ranging from Sauvignon Blanc to Merlot to Mourvedre and some tasty blends, Augie covers the gamut and there’s bound to be something for every palate.
Truly, we can’t say enough about these people, they are above and beyond awesome. We definitely recommend stopping at Hug Cellars when you’re in town…let ‘em know Hoot n Annie sent ya!!
