As a very new dad (Sammy is almost 8 weeks old) and for Annie and I only doing this “parenting blog” for roughly 8 months, we do understand the time, creativity, and dedication it takes to put out new and fresh content on a regular basis. Annie and I have been doing our Hoot n Annie wine and lifestyle blog for almost 3 years now and have about 600 posts on there…we started this blog to document our story (going back to the miscarriage) and so family and friends that do not live in our area could follow along.
I don’t read any parenting/ mommy/ daddy blogs religiously, but I do read many posts from all over and I really wanted to congratulate the winner on Babble’s list this year, The Bloggess for being fun to read but mainly for being so open and honest with her story. Many of these “mommy bloggers” have done so well because they tell the story in a fresh and honest way, often times to the point of becoming controversial simply because they are saying things that other parents have only thought.
That’s the point isn’t it? In this time of social media and blogging, we can each get our story out there and connect with others. Beyond that, if we dare to be truthful about our lives we can also help others and create conversation around sensitive topics. We can learn from one another and hopefully become better people and better parents.
So, cheers to the “Top 100” on Babble’s list this year and keep doing what you’re doing!
