At today’s doctor appointment Annie found out that she has gained a total of 12 pounds so far in the pregnancy and that the glucose test she took a couple weeks back came in with good results. The only other information was that she measured about 30 weeks pregnant but is 29 weeks along, which simply means the due date may be earlier…who knows? Little Browne will come when he’s good and ready to come.
The next doctor appointment will be in two weeks, so it’s every two weeks now instead of every four weeks…this will change to weekly when the due date gets closer. Bottom line, Annie and Little Browne are rockin’ the pregnancy!!
It’s an interesting time here for myself…I’m excited but not losing my mind and I still feel slightly removed from the situation but I know that will soon change. There’s been all this hype for the last six months and it seems we’re in a kind of quiet time, which is fantastic, and I’m not doing all that daydreaming about Little Browne that I had been doing. I think part of the reason is because I feel calm and at peace, I don’t feel all hectic and discombobulated.
With so many people telling us that our life is going to be over, that we’re not going to sleep for two years, that our “fun lifestyle” is gone for good, and we won’t be traveling for years…it screws with you, but I had a little epiphany…this is OUR life and we will decide how it will be. Just because other people let their kids rule their days, doesn’t mean that’s what we have to do. As obvious as this is, actually realizing that gave me a nice sense of calm. Sure, things will be hard sometimes but guess what? Things are hard sometimes now…that’s just life.
As we’re hurtling through this home stretch I’m quite content with how things are going. More importantly I am still blown away with just how gracefully Annie has been handling this process…still doing CrossFit 3 or 4 days per week, eating healthy, and truly embracing the pregnancy and enjoying the miracle.
I don’t know how you got so lucky, little brother, but Annie is a keeper! (Just kidding about the getting lucky part, you’re a keeper, too!). Annie – you look STUNNING! Pregnancy looks so good on you! Love you both and special loves for Little!
