The 24 hour news cycle can be a great thing, if used for good instead of stupidity. When looking to fill their web pages, their hour or half hour long shows, or their newspaper pages; why do they resort to over analyzing and drama instead of “feel good” stories? Well, as much as people say they’re tired of all the hype and drama, we still show up at the trough everyday to eat what they are feeding us.
We, as consumers, need to expect and demand something different in order to get something different. I’m tired of all the mudslinging and name calling. I’m tired of all the second guessing and finger pointing. I do think it’s time for a change, but that has to start in the mirror. We each have to start expecting and demanding something different from the media and from our politicians. What can you do in your life to start making these small changes? Write letters or emails to media and political leaders? Boycott print, radio, and television media?
