I think I have six or seven pair of jeans, but this blog is about four of them. Four of them that were purchased are the exact same size (on the tag anyways), same brand, and purchased at the same store. They are a good brand name purchased at a surf style shop here in California. Anyways, each pair fits completely different; one pair is more fitted than the others, another is longer than the others, etc.
Consistency in product is important, especially when it comes to certain types of products. I don’t want to go in to a store and try on every damn pair of jeans, every t-shirt, and every pair of socks. Once I know the size I need I want to be able to go in and buy that thing anytime I want without the hassle of dressing room lines. I understand there are tolerances in the quality control process that allow for some variation but regarding the jeans mentioned above, the QA person in charge that day must have been high.
So, remember to be consistent in your message, your branding, and your product/ service. It’s important to most consumers because they come to depend and rely on that consistency.
